DREA & SAMHonestly, we're just two girls a long way from home trying to get by with a little help from our friends and this blog apparently. Sam, SPARKY, is in Bloomingtom, Indiana for 10 months of the year and Drea, IGOTNOTHING, is in Boston, Mass. for those 10 months but every so often, they find themselves "comfortably" at home in Los Angeles, Ca. We're pretty cool, no lie. |

hey, mr president! it's a bit sad when a country's own elected leader cannot address his public. is it not that a politician is a man of the people, of the public? if he cannot speak to those which he governs, how can he be expected to lead them? it's one thing if he's mute, but president obama is most definitely not mute. if anything, he is a very capable and able public speaker. but somehow, it has become incendiary and utterly controversial whenever the man desires to address the union. or the public. come on people, he is the president. let me repeat myself, barack obama is our forty-fourth elected president of all fifty of the united states of america. need it again? honestly, he has every right to speak to his public about whichever he chooses. and yes, it will be political. by the very nature of the job, being president is a manifestation of the political aspects of american government. people, people, people. american citizenship should be revoked from those who do not recognize this. he's the president. anything he says or does is political. he is a politician. and you all elected him as your leader. and my god, what is so upsetting that you have to get your knickers in a twist about obama telling kids to stay in school so they can better themselves and get an actual job when they are adults. if you took the time to listen or even read his speech, you would know that all he said was hey kids, it's cool to stay in school. i mean how much more american can you get with his preachings of self-reliance and the call for students to stay in school and become productive members of u.s. society? seriously? that's communism? that's socialism? huh, well if so gimme two steaming slices of that pie. a president has the right to address his public. most especially the future public that will someday inherit this country. don't you think it'll make you sleep better at night if you knew today's youth was on a better and brighter path; going to be better members of society to take of you in old age? isn't it comforting to think that our president has taken suck an initiative to do so? and besides, speaking to students is de rigeur of an oval office head. why the sudden objection? why, because the precedents didn't have color? because precedents didn't actually believe what they were saying? i think that's the real issue here. let's all move on from that. oh, and you elderly folks screaming about the government taking away your medicare. f.y.i. that's a government run program. and um, yeah, uncle sam is not going to be euthanizing your asses because if you knew anything about anything you'd know that a) mass forced killings of any group of people are called genocides and seriously violate both national and international law and no politician would agree to such a thing nor would any sane human being do such a thing so get your heads out of the sand and wakey wakey; b) if you knew anything about the american reform and prison system, you would know that death row inmates are more than often not executed because killing a person is more expensive to the state than keeping them in jail for life. that's the facts. get them straight. oh, and one last note. joe wilson you keep your mouth shut. or better yet, let's arrest this fool! why is it that a white man can call out an elected official of a different party and only be slapped on the wrist if anything and the guy that threw a shoe at george bush (and missed) gets thrown in jail? party politics: 2 american civil liberties and justice: 0 great job america, great job. 12:04 PM
